Student Intern
Under the Supervision of Alyssa Bonneville, PhD, RP

Primary Location: Barrhaven

I am a dedicated psychotherapist in training, committed to fostering a nonjudgmental and empathetic environment crucial for effective counselling and therapy. My therapeutic approach emphasizes establishing a strong and unwavering relationship with clients as the foundation for successful therapy.

My holistic counselling approach incorporates various evidence-based therapeutic modalities tailored to the client's specific issues. These modalities include cognitive-behavioural therapy, which addresses thoughts, feelings, and behaviours; solution-focused therapy; and narrative therapy, which empowers clients to develop their own unique solutions and coherent narratives for a fulfilling and enriched life. My overall therapeutic goal is to empower my clients to achieve optimal well-being, resilience, and strength in dealing with life challenges.

Having a diverse cultural background and exposure to various cultures, I recognize the importance of approaching clients with curiosity. Thus, I maintain a nonjudgmental, inquisitive stance, exploring clients' worldviews and cultural values to provide unique and individualized support. In addition, my South Asian Muslim background enables me to empathize with the acculturation stress and challenges faced by many Asian and Muslim immigrants, allowing me to effectively support clients who experience similar issues.
